At Peachy’s, we believe in total wellness—mind, body, and soul. We’re here for your glow-up, but part of that journey includes taking care of what’s on the inside. Today, I want to speak on something deeply personal but incredibly important: suicide prevention.
During high school, I went through some really dark times. I experienced what felt like an overwhelming storm inside me, and I reached a point where I thought the only way to find peace was to end it all. Yes, I made an attempt. It’s hard to admit, but it’s part of my story—and that’s why I’m still here today, sharing it with you. Because we don’t talk about it enough, and we NEED to.
If you’ve ever been in that place, or you’re there now, I want you to know this: It’s okay to speak up. Seriously. The hardest thing to do when you feel like you’re drowning is to ask for help, but it’s also the bravest and most important step you can take.
Life isn’t always smooth sailing. It can be rough, and those lows can feel so isolating. But reaching out for help doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re human, and it means you have hope, even if you don’t see it yet.
Here are a few things I encourage you to keep in mind if you’re struggling or feeling like life is too much to bear:
1. Don’t be afraid to talk – Whether it’s with a friend, family member, therapist, or even a hotline, just start talking. You don’t have to have the perfect words. Simply saying, “I’m not okay” is enough. Let others be there for you.
2. Take it one day at a time – Some days, simply getting out of bed is a victory. And guess what? That’s okay! Small wins matter. One step forward is still progress, even if it feels slow.
3. Self-care is critical – Nourish your body and mind, even if it’s hard. Take a walk, drink some water, and make time for a little bit of self-love. It’s not just about pampering yourself—it’s about showing up for YOU.
4. Your feelings are temporary, even when they don’t feel like it – It’s so important to remember that the tough moments won’t last forever. The clouds will pass. There’s light on the other side, and you owe it to yourself to see it.
I get it—life can be overwhelming, and sometimes, you feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. But I’m here to tell you, you’re not alone. You are stronger than you think, and there are people who want to help lighten that load.
If this resonates with you or someone you know, please reach out. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255, or you can text “HELLO” to 741741 to connect with someone who cares.
At Peachy’s, we’re all about helping you feel and look your best, but part of that starts with taking care of your mental health. You deserve to live a life where you feel happy, loved, and supported.
“Your story isn’t over yet, and we’re here to help you write the next chapter.”
Stay strong, stay Peachy, and remember—you’re not alone. Let’s keep the conversation going this September and beyond. 💖
